We have recently seen from the comments of former President Jimmy Carter that the subject of race is still alive and well. Carter has said that if we criticize President Obama concerning health care then it's simply because he is black and those who are against his policies think he, as a black man, is unqualified. May I be one of many to remind Carter that Obama won the election with both black and white votes alike. And if the country was so racist as Carter would have you believe, then McCain (the white guy) would be in the Oval Office as we speak (along with the white woman, Palin).
First of all, I take great pride in following the dream of Martin Luther King by judging President Obama by the 'content of his character and not the color of his skin.' I disagree with Obama on a lot of things as I look beyond the eloquent rhetoric he often uses. Neither do I jump for joy when someone who is labeled a conservative Republican who takes office since Bush was not the best icon due to him not actually BEING a conservative in various ways. And since we are speaking of political parties, wasn't it sort of a paradox that Obama dressed up as Abraham Lincoln during one of his inauguration ceremonies? Don't they know that Lincoln was a Republican...not a Democrat and the Civil War ended on his watch?
Now, I understand that what I just mentioned is simply old news to most bloggers but this is not for them. I've found most people are very ignorant, especially among our younger generation, on the simple basic lessons of history. Our society through the mainstream media and left-wing education has created a lot of 'crickets' in which they are always constantly chirping but yet always remaining in the dark. With that in mind, I wonder if people actually realize that the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s was passed with a Republican controlled Congress. Not to mention, a certain Democrat, Al Gore Sr. (yeah, the father of the OTHER Al), who voted AGAINST it. Have you ever noticed when a liberal Democrat speaks they always dwell on our differences and promote 'class warfare' to get their way.
It's always a speech about black and white, rich and poor, upper class and middle class and so forth. They appear to be more racially motivated since they are quick to point out the difference in the first place without considering the fact that two people of different ethnic backgrounds can disagree without making it a racial issue. They never see the two as just humans who are made in the image of God regardless of the color of their skin. But let me carry this even deeper since I've thrown God into the picture. Let me point out that I'm not ashamed to say that I hold fast to the Scriptures of the God I trust. I always say that the problem with this world is not a SKIN problem but a SIN problem!
As the Bible says in Leviticus 17:11 about how the 'life of the flesh (which includes the skin) is in the blood,' we all bleed the same underneath. Did you know the word 'race' appears in the Scriptures only FOUR times and that it NEVER refers to differences between skin colors, etc? The word 'race' is used in the Bible to describe a sporting event with the last mention of it referring to a spiritual context in Hebrews 12:1 where we run the race of life with patience. And that is what's wrong with RACISM to begin with....the competitive implication that the word itself implies when we associate it with different ethnicities. We can give most of our thanks for that thought process to our good friend Charles Darwin (the evolutionist). It was through his book The Descent of Man (and you thought he only wrote 'The Origin of Species') where he mentions how different cultures were superior to others and promotes competition to remain at the top. This is the same belief system that Adolph Hitler used to attempt to exterminate the Jews.
So, as you may see, we shouldn't be in a 'race' with each other. Let's get rid of the term RACE altogether when it refers to our cultural differences and let the world know that we are not going to be in competition with each other any longer. Especially when it comes to dirty politicians, Democrat OR Republican, to achieve their own pipe dreams. We can start with this new perspective in the light of a new day.....or remain as 'crickets' in the dark.
